The Accountancy curriculum at The British Co-Ed High School attempts to prepare young minds for a challenging journey into the world of Business
To provide an understanding of the principles of accounts and practice in recording transactions and interpreting individual as well as company accounts.
To develop an understanding of accounting concepts and their application to further studies in accountancy
To develop an understanding of the form and classification of financial statements as a means of communicating financial information.
To provide a study of the more important aspects of the commercial world.

In year 11 the topics covered are:
Basic Accounting Concepts
Journal and Ledger
Cash Book and Bank Reconciliation Statement
Trial Balance, Rectification and Final Accounts
Bills of Exchange
Non Trading organisation
In year 12 topics covered are:
Joint Venture accounts, Self Balancing and Sectional Balancing system.
artnership accounts Admission, Retirement and Death of a Partner, Dissolution of a Partnership Firm
Joint Stock Company Accounts- Issue of shares and Debentures, Final accounts
Analysis of Financial statements- Cash Flow Statement and Ratio Analysis.
Class participation, Project work including electronic spreadsheet for the preparation of accounting information in business organizations; and tests throughout the year.
